Reading my email this morning, I was struck by two different quotes in separate notes:
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
“Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.”
This is why people yearn for great leaders – to teach us how to dance in the midst of what often seems like a storm of overwhelming, incessant change.
Yet I’m also mindful of how often, in this season of remembrance of Martin Luther King, great leaders take us to the promised land but can’t join us there.
Could this be why so many people hesitate to flex their leadership muscles?
